International Virtual Sailing Federation
Does it already exist ?
1/ If no, what could be its utility ? 2/ How could be set up ?
TY to K to launch the debat (in private).
1.1./ IVSAF could give the organization of the World Championships in fleet, team, mix fleet-team and match racing to Clubs who are candidate under the IVSAF recommandations (SI, PC, RC, ...).
1.2./ IVSAF gather the results and publish them.
2.1./ IVSAF would be democratically constitued and renewed each year.
PS: I saw many Clubs are able to organized very high quality competitions, but feel some scattering. I feel that an "above" authority could give some "fresh blood". Just an idea ... TY to give here your view.

Hi J-L,
good point. Before having it federation at International level you might want to have it at National Level first.
I would say somebody is already moving this direction.

It seems also to me that some clubs already offer some International Championships, in Team Racing with ITBYC, for all boats :RC44 and also for ACC and all kind of boats of course...
In Match Racing with VSK Match
and several sites for Fleet championships, all along the year.

It would obviously be the hardest part.
But the 'CU' Group is already working in this direction, raising the ranking of 'CU' clubs, and setting a global ranking of these clubs.
Moreover, this ranking was one of the selection's criteria for the Nordic Cup 2012.

This is true that a federation overseeing all such sites does not exist, at least not to my knowledge, |

before to to go in such a way, we would need to be sure about the destiny of our favorite game.... Do you think the new owner would be so kind to have discussion with ISAF right now
On my own i'm pretty optimistic with ISAF open mind to talk about this objective. It's difficult to get any right (neutral) organisation from some few virtual sailors with no hand on the game itself furthermore |
