Camster, following the advice from your website, I tried to create a course, I was able to create and save several, but I can not play them. I get the message "you need 4 spawn points" ???
Is there a level in the solo game that must be reached?

No, when you create or edit a course you have to create spawn points using the "player icon" (page 16 of the VSK manual) to insert the points where the other players will spawn when the course if launched.

The player icon is the 4th one along on the "course" page.

Dont forget to spawn the other players BEHIND the start line Sourire

It seems like this thread is changing from "how to make skins" to "how to make courses"... Clin d'oeil.

I have created several skins, at first just coloring over the dds files, but lately using templates, a much better way to go.
Except for the Offshore, after I am done with the psd file, and flatten the layers, I go to save as a dds, and I get "unsupported format" message. Except for the sails I can save them, not the hull or Spinaker.
Anybody else have this problem or an idea what I am doing wrong?

As an aside, the dds plug-in works fine with Paint Shop Pro X, but crashes PSPXI, any thoughts?

Where are you putting the plug-in for PSP?

Make sure your save dialogue box looks like the following - especially the activated radio buton for 2-D texture lower right.

The plug in is in the Corel plug in folder and I made several skins sucessfully, that dialogue box was coming up, I may just need to reinstall the plug in.

Another suggested graphics program is GIMP - it's open source (free!!) and there's a DDS plug in for it as well.

Just wanted to add 2 things:

1) In my experience, creating a locator file for your skin is virtually essential if you want anyone else to see it.

2) If your graphics program can't handle DDS files and you don't want the hassle of downloading GIMP or paying out cash for something else, try DDS converter v2.1 from: http://files.filefront.com/DDS+Converter+21/;4470512;/fileinfo.html

HI

Sorry to disinter this thread but I have been attempting my first skin from a template and have had some, limited, success. My problem seems to be that the mainsail doers not show "both" sides but uses the one side (port) only for both but in reverse for the other (starboard). The actual image is fine as far as I can see would anyone have any suggestions please?

Hi Keith

The letters are not arranged correctly on the sail on the right hand side of the screen. You need to use [edit] [transform] [flip vertical] in photoshop to get them the correct way round.

Have a look at this article (the bottom of the page) http://www.northspace.co.uk/skins_making.html

And you will see this image, which in the article you can click to enlarge:

Hi Sandy

Thanks for the reply. I will give that a whirl and see, it is confusing that they must be in reverse oin the sail but I see what you mean. Thanks.
