| I just can't seem to get the 3:40 it's looking for... I always seem to end up crawling coming off the second mark, and I can't find a quick way from the last mark to the finish line either. Best time so far was 3:53 and change... |

Just did agian and made it with a half a sec to spare.
First time I completed it I had about 4 sec. I am sure that there is an expert way around. But as you have a few more to go (I'm still working my way too) I will tell you how I figure these out. First time I get out I check the course by clicking on the map in the lower left corner. Pay attention to the roundings (Starboard or Port). Then after I sail through, I play with each tack by running the different sails up to see the speed of the boat. Also pay attention to wind direction and wind speed. I find the best sail for the tack.
For Tropical 24 from start to mark 2 run a #1 (the samll sail) then half way to 3 run a #3 (largest sail) to a little past 4 mark. Then back to the #1. I have gone on both sides of the island but I would go on the windward side. Once past the island go back to the #3.
Good luck!

I got it early last night, had a hard time on a couple of the Nordic ones (that current is murder), and finally called it a night after the game didn't register my rounding a mark 20 minutes into an Isle of Wight race.. |
