Glad the Intros are working. I dont know how to stop the intro automatically opening the race screen, although this used to happen in the days before I added the camera track & sound. Let us know if you find out please! _________________ Sandy

Following on to this I Made some intros for mates and e-mailed them but it appears that the music file is not with the intro so i had to send it seperately, does the music run from another location? When you view someones intro and hear the music is it stored in your computer or thiers ?

| I have saved races with intros while playing online and the music came with them. So it seems when you join a game online the intro, music and all, are uploaded with the race. |

I guess music is stored in a folder
VSK5/mediatracker/sound
and pictures belonging to the intro at
VSK5/mediatracker/images.
To handover the complete map I started working with an installer program to create an exe file which will place the files. Otherwise, some people will not see the images etc. because the intro is shown without having the time to download it.
If someone knows a good installer to choose different install folders
VSK5
VSK5Online
AmericasCup32
by check box, please let me know.....

I have made such an installer & you can see it work if you download the courses at Northspace. http://www.northspace.co.uk/vsk5_courses.html . It is made with Inno Setup and its companion program IS Tool. They are both free on the internet.
When the host has the music & images in the correct folders, the other players upload them to their cache. If they save the race and later host it, the music & images will work for so long as the files remain in the cache. Ultimately it is likely that they will get displaced from the cache by later files.
So when sending courses to friends, you need to send them the music and images files too. And their locators too, if you use them - they will speed up transmission of the files to players (just like skins). _________________ Sandy

Hi, when making an intro i found the coordinates for text by trial and error, easy and obvious to you smart alecs but confusing to a mere mortal, anyway this is as I see some main points to start from. The ones round the edge put text just off screen, handy if you want text to begin or end out of sight, different positions can be chosen by changing the decimal places ie;
X0.75
Y0.799
etc etc
Sorry if you already know but this may help another beginner

Hi John,
You can do that or, type your text and then place the cursor over it on the screen, depress the right mouse button and drag the text(or picture etc) where you want it. The co-ordinates follow. _________________ Cheers,
