maybe we can wait a little more to see if there are other troubles like this, or do you feel confident that it is the only one of this type?

Sorry Florent for always being bad news Clin d'oeil.
On the previous exe update, all was fine with regards to race mode.
On the latest update,
Fleet Race is logged as Match Race
Match Race is logged as Fleet Race
Team Race is logged as Team Race

I'm running VskAC32.exe version.

Update: Tested also Vsk5Online.exe with same results.

I tested the VSK5 version.

Fleet race is logged as Match race.
Tested with 1 participant in Local Network mode.

Now I can confirm Haralds post for VSK5:

Sailed Teamrace = Logged as Teamrace
Sailed Matchrace = Logged Fleetrace

ok, I have waited a little to see if there is no another problem in the log file, in order to avoid to make another version just after the race type update.

so, I will trigger the build of the new exes soon.

thanks for the feedbacks.

Hello,
We finally did it! We improved the log information at the end of the race.

Description of the new XML log file :
- The root tag is named <race>
<results> tag contains one <player> tag block for each player involved in the race.

This is NOT logical!

As it is now the FILE-name is "Result_(Date_time).xml", the root name (inside) is "Race" and the child-tag to race is named "Results" = Result->Race->Results

I believe this is more logical: Result_(Date_time).xml -> Results -> Race, where Race is a Child to results, else is better to rename file to "Race_(Date_time).xml". = Race.xml->Race->Results

Thank you for your patience,
Nadeo

BIG WARNING!
XML + free letter in nickname is not compatible!
HERE IS AN EXAMPLE FROM A RESULT FILE (from line53):

<player><rank>23</rank><login>blomqvist</login><nickname>Blom $F00<KKND Team></nickname>DNF</player>

Try to import that... Clin d'oeil

The nickname includet his: <KKND Team> : who will resolve in a xml-error.

TO NADEO -> You must filtering all the nicknames ast the standard says - from these forbidden letters! Here is the adress http://www.javacommerce.com/displaypage.jsp?name=saxparser3.sql&id=18232 so RTFM please!

.

Funny - nice idea - when coming from the problem creator...

RTFM - here is the adress: http://www.javacommerce.com/displaypage.jsp?name=saxparser3.sql&id=18232

Its neccesary to filtering 5 letters - not alound in xml - with esc-code or ascii code - as the standard say it should be done!

P.S
Its not "one"problem - its a major multi file problem - and its coming from Nadeo -> lets see whats going to happens when all the problems "showing up" - I don't think the owner of xml-error problems will send any thanks giving to the "creator"...

To use a program with xml tag-system standard and and not follow the standard so it will be "open" tag inside - doesn't look as a good idea 2 me!

The xml-standard engine will report an error - so what is it useful 4 - nothing! Even Nadeo should read and follow the standard they use - else no meaning to use it - because the value is zero!

I'm with Lazy on this... having to manually fix mal-formed XML makes it impossible to automatically process results files. There is no benefit in using a file format that is almost XML.

Shame on Florent for letting that bug slip through... failing to escape the contents of text nodes is a rookie XML mistake... I should know, I make it all the time Tr?s content

I have 3 solutions on this already, solving the problem when reading the "corrupt" files.

But however, it seem to me that Nadeo needs help, here is the solution on HOW the tags should have been for the nickname:
<nickname>Blom $F00<KKND Team></nickname>

I strongly recomend CDATA for all the nicknames - who MUST be placed in the xml-file!

Its "out of standard" to set "fix and trix" to solve the problem in the XSLT document.

PS I suggest Nadeo send me an X-tra login account - for my tender boat - as a thank you 4 the knowles.

I think that it should be born in mind that the xml used is probably more than adequate for Nadeo's purposes and that they gave us acess to the file(s) at our request. It is not file that was intended for publication and, therefore, did not require any further correction or changes, it did its job.

That will makes difference, I didn't know the relations of "external" creation!

In that case - why not use .csv - its easier with no complex engine creating problem.
Set all info used in the xml, on each line in a fixed order, and keep the first 4 posts as it is now - in same order (rank, time, login, nickname) . The file will bee approximately the same in size! a csv is easier to handle.
