Thanks Alx. I hadn't played in full screen mode as I always play in windowed mode. I have the same symptoms you describe - the pointer works normally in full screen mode with the fix, but is not aligned correctly in windowed mode.

Hi all,

to get around the issue with the mouse cursor displacement in windowed mode do the following:

1. Start DXWnd again
2. Right click your Virtual Skipper profile you created earlier and choose modify
3. Switch to the "Libs" panel and uncheck "Remap Client Rect"
4. Click Ok

You can now run vsk5 through DXWnd again. If you are in windowed mode, the mouse cursor displacement should be gone.

Regards

Thanks a million Raskil. Can confirm that that ha successfully fixed the pointer misalignment and I can now play in windowed mode, with no blurriness, AND with the pointer aligned correctly. 100% back to operational goodness.

Hi All,
has anybody work out how you only click on to the Vskac32 shortcut to start the game or do we have to go through DXWnd way (or can somebody pls)

Sandy, My game is up and runnig fine again

Windows 10 EVGA GTX970 works fine

Thanks All Tr?s content

Hi Ralphine. You can't click the old Vskac32 shortcut anymore. The game needs to be started through dxwnd for the fixes to be applied. However, if you go to the Dxwnd help, you'll notice that dxwnd supports parameters to directly start a given profile. That way you could make you own shortcut that runs vsk5 through dxwnd without any additional clicks.

Ok, I've come up with a solution:

1. If you applied my earlier fix, you need to remove the Microsoft App Compat Toolkit fix you created erarlier. Therefore start the 32-Bit App Tollkit, Load the database you created and remove all the fixes that are inside of the DB. After that, save the DB and install it again (to remove the fix).
2. Download this little tool: https://sourceforge.net/projects/dxwnd (It's a DirectX Wrapper with many compat settings).
3. Unzip the tool to a folder of you choice and start DxWnd.exe
4. Click on Edit->Add
5. Fill in a Name in the Name Box (e.g. vsk5)
6. For Path and Launch Select the vsk5.exe or vsk5online.exe
7. Uncheck the "Run in Windows" Checkbox
8 Switch to the "DirectX(2)" panel and check "Forces HEL"
3. Switch to the "Libs" Panel and uncheck "Remap Client Rect"
9. click OK
10. Right Click the VSK5 that shows up in the list now.
11. click "run"

A Note: Unlike the MS App Compat Toolkit, you need to start vsk5 through the dxwnd interface, otherwise the fixes are not applied.

Enjoy VSK5 without blurry textures Sourire

Did you create a separate DxWnd profile for vsk5ac and did you start vsk5ac through dxwnd?

I have two separate profiles VSK5 (DIGITAL VERSION) and 32AC (CD VERSION)
WITH DXWND VSK5 has the perfect texture...32AC has textute blurry ... I did the same procedure

I don't know, it looks like the old fix is still applied for your vsk5ac. Can you make sure that you removed it from MS Compat Toolkit and installed the DB?

Hi,

in MS App Compat Toolkit, please open the node "Installed Databases" in the left pane. Right Click any of you Databases that is still installed and select "Uninstall". Then try again to start your vsk5ac through dxwnd.
